Taipei, Taiwan – The Taiwan Business & Human Rights Forum will take place on February 24, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, as part of RightsCon, the world’s leading summit on human rights in the digital age. Co-hosted by Rights CoLab, Environmental Rights Foundation, and Taiwan Transnational Corporations Watch, the Forum aims to spotlight Taiwan’s recent advancements in laws and policies on business and human rights—key elements in its economic diplomacy.
The multi-stakeholder forum will feature high-level speakers including Ming-Hsin Lin, a minister with the government of Taiwan; Christoph Saurenbach, Head of Trade Section, EU Office in Taiwan; Allison Lee, co-founder of the Yilan Migrant Fishermen Union; and other stakeholders from companies, investors, directly affected communities, and global brands such as Google and Microsoft. The discussion will center on best practices for Human Rights and Environmental Due Diligence (HREDD), with a focus on the potential adoption of mandatory HREDD standards for Taiwanese corporations and their overseas operations.
The Forum provides a unique opportunity for government officials, industry leaders, and stakeholders to exchange views on creating a sustainable and ethical business environment.
