Hybrid Entities Can Bring For-Profit Strategies to NGO Funding
There is not enough funding to sustain the NGOs that help drive the human rights movement. After exploring the field extensively, Louis Bickford established a social enterprise that is dedicated to helping partners collect, curate, and distribute stories. The effort to create a hybrid for-profit/not-for-profit entity has not been without challenges, and the model will not work in every area of human rights work, but Bickford’s experience shows the potential.
